SPARTA  HEALTH & FITNESS CENTRE

Originated in 1996 by a distinguished and respected coach from Lithuania. Over the years it has gone through name and location changes but the core values and Sparta way of training has stayed the same achieving great results on local and international sports arena. With the inclusion of the gym facilities and the introduction of Personal Training, we are now able to offer a more complete fitness package.

WHAT IS OLYMPIC WRESTLING?

Wrestling is practiced in Olympics and international competitions. In wrestling all body may be used in any way to obtain a fall. A fall is awarded when one contestant holds both of his or hers opponent's shoulders to the mat for one second. By International rules any fair hold, trip, or throw is permitted. Chokes or submissions are forbidden, as well as kicking and punching. Wrestling is a great way to stay fit, develop overall body strength, endurance and athletic physique as well as a grate form of self-defense. In the Olympic games of ancient Greece, wrestling was an integral part of the Pentathlon; a form of all around athletics championship Wrestling was also taught to the elite Spartan solders as it is one of the most reality based combat sports

The president of the Sparta is Dmitry Capel a young talented wrestler with fantastic achievements in wrestling.

COACHES & TRAINING DISCIPLINES

The head coach for Sparta is Gregory Khazhiner, well known wrestling coach in Europe with over 30 years experience in coaching wrestling. Gregory’s sporting achievements would look impressive to anyone, Gregory or Coach as we all call him is a master of sport of wrestling earned his title by wining heavyweight championship in former soviet block

SENIOR TRAINING 17+

A sub coach for senior group is Ian Wardell     (level 1 wrestling coach). Ian is undisputed current Heavyweight champion of Australia in Freestyle Wrestling. His coaching career is only few years old but his new and modern approach to wrestling coaching is staring to produce fantastic results from new members.  His trainings are fun and tough. They comprise of different games and wrestling drills.  The trainings are usually go for one, to one and a half hours depending on intensity and specific requirement in training cycle. JUNIOR / CADET TRAINING 7+

Junior and cadet  sub coach and clubs manager is David Zemlinsky another young and  talented middle weight wrestler, David is a qualified trainer with an excellent wrestling record, his fantastic achievements on Australian arena have earned him the right to represent Australia on an international tournament where he became a bronze medalist. David’s training program for junior and cadets are comprised of Fitness, strength and endurance training based on European training approach,  junior trainings are held every Monday Wednesday  and Friday  evenings for more information you can contact David on 0411 743 570
